Reebuild alternatives: features, pricing and comparison (2026)

Reebuild at a glance: an AI back-office for invoice checking, costs and materials in construction. Compared with Streckenheld, Cathago and Vestigas, from tendering to payment approval.

Reebuild describes itself as "the AI-native back-office" for construction and real estate and automates invoice approval, cost management and material administration. The companies looking for alternatives usually want to start earlier than the incoming invoice, with tendering, awarding, ordering and delivery dates in the same platform, or want their suppliers connected directly. This article sets Reebuild and three alternatives side by side.

Reebuild at a glance

Vienna-based Reebuild addresses construction companies, project developers, property developers and property holders "from 10 employees upwards". Every incoming document, whether PDF, photo, scan or e-invoice, is read, classified and assigned to the right project. The website organises the offer into nine modules:

  • Invoice verification: "automated and line-item accurate"; each line item is "automatically extracted, reconciled, and recalculated", with a correction and review sheet and a booking suggestion. Material invoices are matched against the order, the order confirmation and framework prices.
  • Approval workflows: "flexible, transparent, and traceable", showing "who is currently reviewing, who has already approved", with mobile bulk approval for management and stand-ins for absences.
  • Document archive: "automatically sorted by project, company, and business partner", with full-text search and audit-proof storage.
  • Subcontractor checks: contract, bill of quantities and measurement are "automatically merged and verified"; the invoice is matched line by line against the BoQ and the construction contract, with an overview of retentions, deductions, guarantees and discounts and an automatic correction sheet for the subcontractor.
  • Delivery notes: "Photo on the construction site, automatic matching with order and contract, done."
  • Budgets: "Set budgets, actual costs are automatically matched against them."
  • Cost analysis: detail for "every invoice and every cost item", filterable by project, period and cost type.
  • Product analysis: "Every verified invoice automatically builds your internal price database."
  • Inventory: "Real-time inventory - directly from delivery notes", with an ordering app for site managers to order from the company's own stock and precise cost allocation.

Documents arrive by email, scanner, API, the Reebuild photo app or on paper. E-invoices are received as ZUGFeRD, XRechnung and Peppol, and for e-invoices the PDF and XML are compared automatically.

Its strengths include the depth of invoice checking, especially for subcontractor invoices with BoQ, measurement and retentions, and multi-entity support: several companies, subsidiaries and projects run in one instance, each with its own workflows, approval levels and permissions. According to the website, customers configure "amount thresholds, approval levels, and responsibilities yourself — without developers, without an IT project." For accounting, Reebuild names DATEV, BMD, BRZ and RZL via "Plug & Play" and stresses that all data can be fully exported at any time. According to the website, the first invoices run through the system within the first weeks.

Profile: reebuild GmbH, Vienna, founded 2022 (per press reports). Hosted in Germany, GDPR compliant, supports GoBD-compliant operations. Website in German and English.

Why companies look for alternatives to Reebuild

Reebuild starts when invoices and delivery notes arrive and from there covers checking, approval, archiving and cost reporting in depth. These points usually prompt a comparison:

  • Tendering and awarding: RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors, a price matrix and awarding are not described as a module on the website. According to an October 2026 press report, new AI modules are to cover the workflow "from calculation to accounting" in future.
  • Ordering from suppliers: the ordering app is described for orders from the company's own stock. Ordering from external suppliers out of catalogs or framework contracts, with approval, is not described on the website.
  • Delivery dates and follow-ups: a delivery calendar, requesting delivery dates, or automatic reminders to suppliers about missing documents are not described on the website.
  • Payment: approval workflows are well developed; a payment run, a SEPA file or reminders before discount deadlines are not described on the website.
  • Supplier connections: documents arrive by email, scanner, API or photo app. A direct connection to suppliers or a supplier network is not described on the website.
  • Customisation beyond workflows: according to the website, amount thresholds, approval levels, responsibilities and permissions are configurable. How your own checking and matching rules, such as supplier-specific identifiers or tolerances, are set up is not described on the website.

The alternatives

1. Streckenheld

Streckenheld is an AI platform for construction companies and building-material dealers that covers the chain from RFQ to payment approval. In delivery notes, invoice checking and approval it overlaps with Reebuild; before and after that, Streckenheld covers further steps. The main building blocks:

  • RFQ and award: send a BoQ or bill of materials to several suppliers and subcontractors with deadlines and automatic reminders, receive offers via web form or PDF, compare them in a line-by-line price matrix with AI matching, and use the negotiation co-pilot. Accepting an offer creates a contract. More in the offer comparison guide.
  • GAEB: import of GAEB DA XML (X80–X86), export of X83/X84.
  • Ordering: from catalogs and framework contracts, multi-step approval with spend limits, automatic email to the supplier, delivery-date planning in the site calendar. Details on the purchase orders page.
  • Document intake: email forwarding, WhatsApp photo, upload and hundreds of supplier integrations through which documents from major retailers and logistics providers arrive automatically. Text recognition also reads handwriting, site photos and margin notes. More in the document inbox guide.
  • Matching: order against confirmation including delivery date and address, confirmation and order against invoice, invoice against delivery notes, plus contract prices, payment terms and early-payment discount. More on the invoice verification page.
  • Payment: multi-step approval, a SEPA file (pain.001) from approved invoices with execution dates that respect the discount deadline, and reminders before discount and due dates.
  • Framework contracts and budget: prices and units of every invoice checked against the matching contract, called off against agreed quantity per contract product, orders above the contracted quantity sent to approval, budget vs actual per site. More in the framework contract tracking guide.
  • Classification: every line classified automatically into ECLASS product categories and trades.

The website names ERP integrations with BRZ, Nevaris, RIB and PDS. Hosting is in the EU, and customer data is not used for training. Prices are not public; Streckenheld charges per active site plus modules.

Best fit: construction companies that want the whole chain from tendering to payment approval in one platform and need to set their own rules flexibly, as well as building-material dealers.

2. Cathago

Berlin-based Cathago's headline is "Bestellt. Geliefert. Geprüft. Mit KI-Software für Bauunternehmen." (Ordered. Delivered. Checked. With AI software for construction companies.) Its ordering module is broad: ordering via app, a construction-site shop, catalogs from Excel to BMEcat, project price lists, and tracking of phone orders and pickups. It adds an automated order-confirmation check, delivery notes via photo AI or EDI/API with a delivery calendar, and a four-way match against price lists and framework contracts with automatic coding. Cathago receives e-invoices as XRechnung, ZUGFeRD, XML or JSON.

Its strengths are a supplier network of more than 4,000 suppliers by its own account, which Cathago connects proactively via EDI/API, and a broad integration list including Nevaris, RIB, BRZ and DATEV. Tendering with a price matrix and payment approval are not described on its website, which is in German. More in the comparison of Cathago alternatives.

Best fit: building and civil engineering firms in DACH, from trades businesses to large companies, for whom ordering on site comes first.

3. Vestigas

Vestigas, based in Munich and founded in 2021 out of a TUM research project, describes itself as an AI supply chain for construction and industry. Its focus is digital delivery notes: structured data via EDI from what it says are more than 1,000 connected suppliers, an AI scan that "learns from corrections", and an offline-capable site app for iOS and Android with a GoBD-compliant signature. It adds concrete testing, contracts and call-offs, a three-way match with configurable tolerances, monitoring of discount deadlines, e-invoices including the Austrian EB-Interface, and Scope 3 CO₂ reporting. Integrations include RIB iTWO, BRZ, Nevaris, SAP and DATEV. Vestigas is free for suppliers. More in the comparison of Vestigas alternatives.

Tendering and awarding are not described on its website. Order-confirmation upload and AI cost allocation are announced as coming soon.

Best fit: contractors, dealers and plants of any size for whom a large EDI supplier network and a robust site app come first.

When Reebuild is still the right choice

  • Subcontractor invoices are your biggest workload. Reebuild brings together the construction contract, BoQ and measurement, checks the invoice line by line, keeps track of retentions, deductions, guarantees and discounts, and produces the correction sheet for the subcontractor.
  • You are a project developer, property developer or property holder. Reebuild addresses these groups explicitly, with budget against actual costs, the cost and revenue side in one system, and audit-proof exports for banks and shareholders.
  • You run several companies. Multi-entity support with separate workflows, approval levels and permissions per company is a firm part of the offering.
  • Your accounting runs in Austria or on DATEV. With BMD, RZL, DATEV and BRZ via "Plug & Play" and Peppol for receiving e-invoices, Reebuild suits companies in Austria and Germany.
  • You keep your own stock. Stock levels from delivery notes, site managers ordering from your own stock and precise cost allocation to the site are described on its website.

Where Streckenheld is different

Reebuild and Streckenheld overlap in document intake, delivery-note and invoice checking, and approval. The differences lie in four areas.

1. The whole chain, not just the back office. According to its website, Reebuild starts with the incoming document. Streckenheld starts earlier and ends later: RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors, the price matrix and awarding, ordering with approval, delivery dates in the site calendar, AI document matching and finally payment approval with a SEPA file, so no early-payment discount is lost. Because the contract, order and confirmation are already in the system, the four-way match checks the invoice against the agreed prices without anyone maintaining contracts by hand. Then there are follow-ups: when an invoice has no delivery note yet, or an order has no confirmation yet, Streckenheld chases the supplier automatically. You can ask the supplier or carrier to confirm the delivery date with one click or through the AI assistant; when they confirm or correct the date, the answer updates the document, the purchase order and the calendar, so site management plans with more reliable dates. Tendering, a delivery calendar, follow-ups and a SEPA file are not described on Reebuild's website.

2. Contract quantities and budget in view. Reebuild matches material invoices against framework prices and sets actual costs against the stored budget; for subcontractor invoices it checks quantities against the BoQ and measurement. Streckenheld also tracks the quantities in framework contracts: every approved invoice counts towards the contract product, converted into the contract's unit, the contract page shows called off against agreed with every invoice involved, and an order that would exceed the agreed quantity goes to approval instead of straight to the supplier. When the automatic match does not fit, you link contract and invoice by hand, from either side, and the check runs again right away. The budget per site comes from the calculation behind your bid; next to it are invoiced costs and ordered costs not yet invoiced, by trade and product category, and the expected margin. Call-off quantities from framework contracts and ordered costs in the budget comparison are not described on Reebuild's website. More in the framework contract tracking guide.

3. Your own rules as AI instructions. In Reebuild, customers configure amount thresholds, approval levels and responsibilities themselves. In Streckenheld, rules go beyond the approval workflow: approval limits, site workflows, ERP terminology, tolerated deviations and supplier-specific identifiers are written as plain-language instructions that the AI follows (the "AI Harness"). Edge cases are added during the typical two-week onboarding. A few examples:

  • A supplier prints its own order or project number on every document. That identifier is set up as a rule and used to group related orders, confirmations, delivery notes and invoices.
  • Matching is not limited to invoice against delivery note: Streckenheld also compares order against confirmation, or any group of orders, confirmations, delivery notes and invoices, for example a collective invoice covering several partial deliveries.
  • Delivery-note numbers printed on the invoice are read and linked to the matching delivery notes, even on handwritten documents.

4. Suppliers connected directly. At Reebuild, documents arrive by email, scanner, API or photo app. Streckenheld is integrated with hundreds of building-material suppliers, retailers and logistics providers: their invoices, delivery notes and confirmations land in the document inbox automatically, without forwarding or photographing. Because building-material dealers work with Streckenheld too, the platform is built for both sides of the purchase. You can find new suppliers nearby through Google Maps and the Streckenheld network, meaning suppliers that other construction companies on Streckenheld already work with. A direct connection to suppliers is not described on Reebuild's website.

Which solution fits depends on whether you mainly want to relieve the back office or bring the whole chain from request to payment into one platform. If you would like to see Streckenheld with your own documents, book a demo.
